Sounds excellent. Up until now you only had 1G RAM? How did you ever survive? 

Boy, talk of upgrading sure makes me want to get in the act. But I treated myself to my custom rig 3 years ago, and it's still sweet, so I can't justify it.

You didn't mention the network card, so you probably didn't do anything fancy there? I went all out and even got a Killer NIC card (back in 2008). Here's a good pic of the bling: http://www.bigfootnetworks.com/killer-nic-m1/ but it did actually work.

Naturally for your laptop, you'll have to get HDMI slots. Which naturally will lead to buying a 50 inch TV so you can hook it up to your laptop and watch youtube enlarged. Or play UT through it, hey that would be cool.
