Bots not where they appear

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has seen this.  A bot is in front of you and firing it's weapon but when you return fire they are not really in that location.  They might be to the side or rear.  It has happened to me on many different maps.  I'm not talking about the bot dodging either.  For the most part the bot is stationary.

Yes it happens to me sometimes too. It also happens with players too, usually a z axis problem. For example see here:

and then here:  http://youtu.be/rEEQfb31zNg
Helen is actually on the ledge above me. but I see him in front of me  Shocked

With bots it's usually when I'm very close to them, the bot will be behind me when I think it should be in front.

That vid is a very good example! So on the server (think the box in chicago), my true position is up on the ledge. Due to replication, Stiv's client (or his PC) thought I went a smidge further, and so his client drew me as having fallen to the floor. Then because I was just spinning in the exact same spot, my x, y, and z values were not changing, so my true position did not get communicated until I moved again.

Replication allows the client to guess a little bit as to where things are.

Does this happen when you're playing online or offline?

Could be connectivity. I sometimes run into a room and sometimes pop up in the room I just left. Then again, I'm on wireless.

If I didn't I wouldn't be able to play now.

I play everyday on wireless - works great! Wink
My whole new computer system is all wireless.
BUT, this is my OWN Good wireless, not from another house, coffee joint or apartment. Tongue

Maybe I'm being too old-schoolish or maybe that rule only applied for server connectivity but I know I'd always feel much better being on a wired connection than a wireless one. Carry on.

Yes, Herm, I do agree with you actually on that - less connection problems generally. Wink

Or, the bots have developed cloaking technology.

LONG LIVE THE BOTS' REVOLUTION!
