Why on earth would a server run a tickrate of 120 ?
Also on FMJ tickrate is 20, but some very good players were saying it's maxed out and the mini is very powerfull because of this. Isn't 20 the standard tickrate ? Do I have this backwards ? Seeking knowledge !  Smiley

I doubt any server is at that number (120), performance would be worse. You would be asking for 6 times the standard amount of processing per tick. I think even a tickrate of 40 would be useless.

I think there is a post at FMJ where he played with the tickrate and things got messed up, so he said he'd never do it again. My memory's a little fuzzy on that, I think it was 2 years ago.

Right, so why would these guys be saying that mini is overpowered on fmj ?
What else would make mini overpowered if not tickrate? max client rate ? Does anyone else think mini is over powered on fmj ?

Yeah, I agree with Helen here - messing with the tick rate usually messes up some of the weapons where they just aren't quite in sync.
EPIC has always said that they did a lot of testing, and 20 is the best overall tick rate - the optimum.

Are you possibly getting tick rate mixed up with fps (frames per second)???
I didn't know a server displayed its tick rate. Huh

They are trying to make every bullet count. With a tic rate like that there can be no unaccounted bullets.
