If a version comes along that accomplishes what I think we all want, new graphics with the feel of the old models/weaps/gameplay, then I'll move on to it.
Lol, working on exactly that. Been working on Meshes for a few days now. However...will definitely be awhile.
If you've never played Unreal 1 + Mission Pack to Na-Pali give that a shot too, if you've used the oldskool movement mutator it will seem familiar however also give Unreal 2 The Awakening a chance, with that they changed the weapons almost entirely but you'll see some similarities as well. Shock Lance for instance, grenade launcher vs Flak Cannon etc.

******When I heard they were making UT4 I was pretty excited.I was really hoping that they would build on UT99.Basically the same weapons, maps, skins, movement, etc.But with today's graphics.Anyway, to me, it appears the almost 20-year-old game is still the best version.
UT4 is a better return to the gameplay and sizing of 99 than UT3 by far. However one of the biggest gripes about 2004 was the wall dodge/shield gun, UT4 makes similar changes. The only thing I really liked about UT3 was the gfx and the return of the stinger. Even the music sucked. Gameplay was pretty fierce though to give it some credit. Blood impacts against the camera were pretty cool too.
